When the Moon turned Red
Long, long ago, for as long as the legends have been told, the wolves of these lands were as one. They lived in peace with each other as a single pack, their lives dependent on the single river that flowed from the top of the mountains to the east. They set their morals based on the river that flowed through the land, for even though it spread into the lengths of the territories, it was one. They prayed upon the blue moon for safety and wisdom. With that, they vowed to never split.
That vow has been forgotten. Just a few years ago, On a single night, the moon turned red. The wolves that believe in the peace of the blue moon were frightened. Being seperated from the rest of the world, they had no idea of the corruption that plagued the other lands. It was this hatred and bloodshed that turned the once protectective moon red. For some, the red moon had opened their eyes to new possibilities. For others, the red moon meant only disaster.
On that night, as the bright blue moon began to bleed red, wolves gazed up at its changes. They watched, some in amazement, some in curiosity, and some in fear. There were few who believed that was the night their eyes, and their hearts, were opened. They claimed to see clearer, to see through the piece that had fallen on the land. The red moon installed new feelings into their hearts. Wonders about the unknown, but also the need to change, just as the moon itself had done. These few rose up, forgetting their pasts, and began to make their futures new.
Panic broke loose when it was learned there were some who called themselves followers of the red moon. The elders believed the red moon brought only the signs of devastation, disaster, and destruction. When they learned that the red moon had corrupted some of the pack, they believed the only choice was to eliminate them before their beliefs could spread.
With this, the blue moon elders hunted down any who seemed different, who wanted more than peace and togetherness. Anyone who even dared to gaze upon the crimson moon would be punished. Many believed this treatment was too harsh, and many followers of the blue moon fought against the elders. Furious, the elders punished those too. Soon, the pack noticed it had become weak, and cracks were opening in the once perfectly molded pack.
But it was only the beginning.
What Happened Next
Soon there was question about the true peacefulness that the Elders sought to protect. The elders trusted no one but themselves, punishing wolves for any reason they could find, for any sin one commited, sending many to death. It was said that the choice the elders made had turned the moon even reder.
It was true, the power of the red moon was growing. Confusion spread among the elders, and trust even among themselves was broken. They went into a rampage, attacking each other, all at the sake to keep everyone together. Questioning the sanity of the elders, some followers of the Blue Moon switched to the Red Moon. Others left all together. Many took their lives. Complete chaos had spread throughout the pack in just the two days the red moon had been risen.
The powers of the Elders weakened. Not even the blue moon would give them strength after their actions. Finally after the end of two nights, the blue moon rose once more. Many who had been praying for it to return were grateful, and decided to protect it at all costs, against the Red Moon followers. They called themselves the Alliance of the Blue Moon. Whatever red moon followers were left began to spread. Those that had been affected by the elders switched to the red moon, following the leaders that the red moon had chosen, those whose eyes were opened to the rest of the world.
The red moon followers wanted something different. As the alliance grew weaker, the red moon followers grew stronger. Soon, a new image was placed in their minds; war. They called themselves the Red Moon Rebellion.
The Seperation
Many wolves left the Alliance to join the Rebellion. They wanted their own pack, to live lives the way they wanted them, free. They didn't need protection from the blue moon anymore, they only needed the light of the red moon to show them the new path. The Alliance didn't stop them. The elders were sure the Rebellion would be small, and easy to over run.
However, as the Rebellion established themselves, it was apparent the new leaders of the Red Moon Rebellion had brought many followers. The next night, the moon was red again, and the rebellion attacked. They ripped at the ones who had tried to stop them, the ones who they once followed; the elders.
That night, every Blue Moon Elder was wiped out. The Alliance broke into a panic. With no elders, and the blue moon's strength weakening, they knew what had to be done.
And so the pack seperated into two. And chaos was soon to follow.
The War and Your Decision
As two packs instead of one, both saw the need for revenge. The Rebellions, who had lost many pack lives, and who saw innocent blood shattered, and the Alliance, who had seen their leaders fall and their guardian weakened. Both sides wanted to protect the things they saw most worthy of protection.
For the Blue Moon Alliance, it was peace and togetherness. Not long after the Rebellion began, many members believed the key was to bring back the two packs as one. They believed that things were perfect the way they were, and saught protection.
For the Red Moon Rebellion, it was change and need of want. They wanted nothing to do with the Blue Moon Alliance. They wanted a new lifestyle, they wanted to be free. They felt that they could rely on themselves for protection, and the moon for strength.
The two packs could not continue as two. Seperated, disaster struck. The first sign was when the mighty river split into two, creating two completly different territories, and a crater in the middle. This seperation of the packs was known to bring the beginning of the war.
And a war it did bring. And now, we are up to date. The war has continued since then, and still carries on. It it time for you to decide.
Do you wish to stay with the Blue Moon Alliance, and restore peace and balance to the territory?
Or Do you wish to join the Red Moon Rebellion, and have your eyes opened to the unknown, the adventures, and the freedom?
Choose wisely. It is not easy to go back. And it just may be the most important descision of your whole life. THIS will decide your Fate. Young one, the journey is marked with many roads. Choose the roads you find best for you, and create some new ones as well. This is your Destiny.
